Life or lie

We tend to look around and easily point out the things that we believe to be alive like a tree, a bee, a person, and in some circles an amoeba. If this is indeed life and not just the ignorant collaboration of any or all folk in any walk of life, then what is a robot?

Life is generally preceded by a process that allows it to continue, perpetuate, or communicate among other things. While the human heart pumps blood through the entire network of veins in the system, the brain manages the heart as much as everything else in the body through electrical signals. Is it not, when talking about any unspecified artificial intelligence, whether visible, tangible, or in the form of a signal or program, something carrying an electrical signal much like our brains? I must ponder on whether this means that a radio wave is as much alive as I.

Is it hard to imagine humanity, homo sapiens, or women and men in their respective sexes, as electrical  machines in their own right. This is not a question about morality or nurture versus nature. This is not a question at all; this is a testament to a reality that in order to understand we must study. Simply putting up our hands and shaking our heads in disbelief or discontent about the nature of the statement does not refute its argument.

We look up at the night sky and most of us believe the light reflected down upon us or rather the perceivable light that is encased in a bubble of past happenings lives in that sky throughout our lifetime. It is truly only the scientist, the well-rounded individual that comprehends that not all we see is as we believe it to be. Going back to the amoeba, it in turn gave life to us… hard to imagine, that our beginnings are so simple. yet, a robot having such a simple beginning as well was begot from humans. But, what if that is life, the mere coming from another no matter what that respective other is or are?

Ignorance comes in so many wily ways that being caught off guard in this age of automation is part of being here. A lot of us want to believe that better means higher, above us, off the ground, in a place of betterment, made of money are having come into it, yet reality has been, since the time of the Greek philosophers, one in which we have yet to understand a thing truly by its merits without adding our arrogance to it. To be alive is then, by merit of this argument, to have an electrical current of any sort coursing through a form. If this holds true then, what is life and what is a lie?
